Jacinto C. Nascimento is an assistant professor in the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). He joined the IST in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DEI) 2014. In 2016 Dr. Nascimento was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Adelaide (Australian Institute of Machine Learning). From 2001 to 2002, Dr. Nascimento was a research scientist INRIA Grenoble-Rhône-Alpes. In 2003, he was a post-doctoral Instituto de Sistemas e Robótica (ISR) - Signal and Image Processing Group (SIPG) at the IST. Dr. Nascimento received his Ph.D. from the IST under the supervision of Professor Jorge S. marques in 2003.

His main research interest are in the fields of Computer Vision, Medical Image Analysis and Machine Learning and Robotics.
